Halloween Crafts - Part 2

As promised in Halloween Crafts Part 1, we now present the Gross Haunted House crafts. This is 5 simple crafts that really work well together, and are great fun for the kids. The theme here is "body parts", as you will see. You can use these to create an awesome haunted house afternoon, and is a nice candy-free Halloween day.

Guts

What you need:

  • 2 cups
  • Borax
  • Glue
  • Water
  • Food colouring

You need to deal with the two cups separately. Mix together the ingredients for each cup, first:

Cup 1
  • 6 spoons glue
  • 6 spoons water
  • food coloring
Cup 2
  • 2 spoons borax
  • 1/2 cup water

Once the cups are prepared, take 4 spoons out of cup 2, and put it in cup 1. Stir, and then you can pull out globs of "guts".

Brains

  • Spaghetti noodles
  • a drop of red food colouring
  • vegetable oil

Overcook the spaghetti so it's very soft. Add the red food colouring to turn it pink, and some vegetable oil to make it nice and slimy.

Eyeballs

Peel some grapes, for some nice eyeball substitutes.

Dismembered Fingers

Take some baby carrots, and cook them a little bit in water dyed red. Drain them, and mix in some vegetable oil to make them nice and slimy.

Dismembered Hand

  • Make either red or peach Jell-O
  • Pour Jell-O in to a rubber glove
  • Tie the end of the glove, and freeze
  • Remove the frozen Jell-O from the glove, and put it in a punch bowl

Makes a nice, creepy centrepiece while cooling the punch. Add the eyeballs for some extra "punch".
