Toddler WILL NOT eat fruit

My almost 16-month-old refuses any and all fruit. He loved it as a baby, but now won't touch it unless it's hidden in something (muffins, pancakes, etc). Any tips on getting him to eat it? He does love veggies, which is a plus, and doesn't mind eating them raw.

Wow, usually veggies are the trouble spot for toddlers. I wonder if it is a consistancy issue for him? My daughter will not eat apples for example unless they are whole/peeled. Just her thing. Will he try fruits covered in yogurt, mixed with jello? My daughter is also sensitive to the acids in fruits, so she needs to eat mainly canned fruits because they have been cooked. Perhaps that is why they were ok as a baby, they were cooked/jarred?

We've tried things canned, frozen and fresh. Peeled/not peeled. In yogurt. He won't touch jello, so haven't tried that. Every conceivable type of berry, fruit, melon, whatever - nothing's a go. I've had a little luck with dried apricots and that's about it. I'd love if he would eat something - it would be such an easy snack - and my husband is really frustrated that our son won't eat any fruits. I just can't figure it out. He'll eat any veggies we give him, he'd eat an entire bag of peas if we'd give it to him, but a banana will leave him screaming.

Does he drink fruit juice? I wonder if it's the taste or the texture? Will he eat raisins?

Loves apple juice like it's nectar from the heavens. He'll also do raisins - particularly if they're yogurt covered, but that's a special treat.

What about apple sauce? My little guy loves to dip toast into apple sauce.

It might be something that just comes with time but in the meantime hide it - smoothies, fruit plus veggie juice my guy loves (thanks to andrea and soo cheap at costco)

Kaden is like that with veggies but I keep offering..some day he will eat it...i hope!

How about fruit leathers or bars? Sun Rype has some great fruit/veg bars. My son won't eat veggies, so that's how we get them in to him. We cut the bar in to small bite size pieces. Sun Rype also has some great fruit/veg juices. Cereal Bars is another great idea.....they come in strawberry, apple, blue berry, etc. Or even fruit snacks?

Don't worry, it will come. At least he is having veggies. Fruits and veggies are in the same food group
