To be quite honest I have had very limited experience in high scope philosophy, but I am always interested in learning something new. Would you consider writing an article for the site?
In answer to your question, we have found we need to offer a great deal of sensory activities for our boys. Lots of playdough, goop, slime, some very hard clay/plasticiene for days when they are really needing to vent some frustration/let out some steam. When their hands are busy, often they can keep their cool and maintain some self control.
We needed to create a seating plan for craft/snack/circle times, to ensure certain pairs were not always together.
We have the children run run run before coming in from outside to get the excess energy out before heading inside. Races, relays, scavenger hunts, etc.
We use a lot of big building blocks, large cars/trucks on a large play mat, indoor bowling, bean bag toss etc to keep them active. This group can not sit for too long, so our "work periods" are short and we are on to a new activity.
We keep transition times short as they are a recipe for disaster.
Sorry, I don't have a clue what High Scope Philosophy is
