Where Daycare Professionals and Ideas Come Together

When to start Christmas programming?

My preschoolers are singing Christmas carols already and asking for Santa's to draw and colour. When do you start your Christmas programming? We generally only do two weeks before the break, however I know we have enough material to make it a much longer theme, if the interest is there. Is Dec 1 too early to start? It would be awful for the theme to wind down before Christmas arrives.
we had planned on winter themes leading up to Christmas, but with no snow, that idea seems kind of silly.

Maybe you could start with some winter theme project, then introduce Christmas closer to the actual date. I would do Christmas, like 2 weeks before. Cause as you say , we wouldn't want the kids to be tired of it by the time xmas come.

My DD's toddler room was all decked out for the Holidays last week! She LOVED seeing Santa greet her on the door to her room.

With the Christmas Concert 2 weeks away, the decorations and Christmas crafts are starting tomorrow.

I don't think it's too early!

Maybe you could even introduce other things beyond xmas..Hanukkah for example

Have fun!

I love christmas!!

We're in full swing
HOWEVER, quite a few of our kids only come two days/week, so we don't have as much time with them. We're doing gift bags for the parents, full of stuff made by the kids, and we've been going for a couple weeks. We've been doing an animal theme - stories, costumes, I brought it boxes for them to make caves, etc - but as we're doing that, we've been doing crafts for Christmas
