Hi Ladies! I'm looking for some suggestions of useful, but not too expensive (around $15-20), gifts for the staff at DD's preschool.
She has just moved from the toddler room to the junior room. I would like to get her something for her teacher from toddler, and I supposed etiquette would say I get something for the new teachers too. Plus, the director and owner of the facility too?
What do you suggest? I wondering about just getting Chapters or Starbucks gift cards-or is that too cheesy? I thought a nice bottle of something for the director and owner (or do they get too much alcohol given to them).
Thanks in advance!

I would love chapters or starbucks GC's. Even Timmy's. It's our spot for afternoon breaks. Scholar's Choice is always a hit for us too. I would say definitely something for her current teacher. Start the new year off right. Something for the toddler teacher too if she spent a lot of time with your DD. Let her know it was appreciated. We are run by a Board of Director's so they never recieve gifts. Owner's may be different. although if it's a for profit centre, your fees may be thank you enough. As supervisor, I get gifts from most parents. I think it's unnecessary, but very thoughtful. "Nice bottle of something" would be fantastic. I certainly do not get enough of those! When I do I always save it for a special occaision and think of the family that gave it to me. We get a ton of mugs, bath stuff, candy and candles. While it is always thoughtful and appreciated, it really adds up after 25 families....
One of the nicest gifts I recieved was a donation in my name to a charity to help children. I also had a hand painted ceramic mug given to me one year. It said, "don't ask me, I just work here." It was really cute and perfect for coffe breaks. I also love when the kids give me ornaments for my tree. I always write who they are from and I keep them all. Soon I will need a new tree, but it's worth it to think about those families that meant so much to me year after year.
For me, anything but coffee mugs. I've gotten so many over the years, I regift (just don't tell my family). With that said, my favorite mug is one I got the first Christmas as an ECE and I still use it. It is now 25 years old and I'm paranoid I'm going to break it everytime I wash it.
