Where Daycare Professionals and Ideas Come Together

Staff meetings

When do you hold your staff meetings? we try and hold ours during sleep time so that no one has to come back to the centre after their shift or have an extra long day. Sometimes this is difficult if there are kids that do not sleep.
How often do you hold meetings? Are all staff involved or are meetings divided amongst position? I know our ECE's have more team meetings that our cleaning/cooking staff are not involved in.

We are the cleaning staff, lol. We haven't had a staff meeting since the last girl was fired like, last winter lol. We've said countless times we want them, but....hasn't happened. We WERE having them once every couple months, and they were for everyone.
However, the owner/operator has "chats" closed door in the office with the DC Manager on a daily basis.

Every couple months we have one. We just had one last week and our next one is scheduled just before the summer program wills start.
I think that every centre should have them every 3-4 months or so.

Did you know the Region requires meetings once a month, with meeting minutes to be signed by all staff in attendance? That is for all centres that receive subsidy from the Region. I just found this out.

I have tried for countless years to hold meetings monthly. It's actually kind of nice in reviewing these posts that I'm not alone in finding it difficult to hold staff meetings. I am on the floor every single day and often communicate things with the individsual room teachers during this time period. This however does not cover the importance of gettin the whole team together.
