Where Daycare Professionals and Ideas Come Together

Lord help me, I have dicovered chocolate play dough

I always knew this was possible, but I had never tried it. Now I can see why children are so tempted to eat play dough, especially this one:

No Cook, Chocolate Play Dough

1 1/4 c flour
1/2 c cocoa powder
1/2 c salt
1/2 tablespoon cream of tartar
1 1/2 tablespoons cooking oil
1 c boiling water

Mix the dry ingredients. Add the oil and boiling water. Stir quickly, mixing well. When starting to cool, knead with hands to completely blend.

This looks really cool, but would we end up promoting the eating of playdough?

I think it is up to the staff to monitor the activity. We do a lot of activities with food. Pudding painting, kool aid play dough etc. It's all a part of the sensory activity. Our kids are pretty good about smelling and not eating. Perhaps too tempting for toddlers, our preschoolers handled it quite well.

Didn't know where to post this, but heard a cool day care joke yesterday...

Whats the difference between boogies and broccoli?? You can eat boogies! (ahhh the life of day care!)

Hahaha, LOVE it!!!!! Will share it at work on Monday, thank you.
