I am a student from Durham College and will be graduating in June, Is there any good web sites to go to for job postings?

Hi Miyhy
There is a French Bilingual Child Care Centre in the Ajax area
visit their web site www.skdgarderiebilingue.ca
miyhy: Hopefully you had very successful field placements...that would be your first step. Most of the teacher's I've hired over the years were previous students doing placement with us.
Job sites are a gamble. You don't know the centre or the philosophy or (gasp!) they may be a profit centre (don't get me started on them) and they don't know you.
Consider doing volunteer work, especially at your local Ontario Early years centre.
Also look up day care's in the phone book in your area and give a call...better yet, ask if you can come in to drop off your resume.
Lastly, a good government website...I don't know the exact address, but google "JobsBank Canada".
Oh, and don't worry, if you are were a strong ECE student (say B+ and up) you probably won't have a hard time finding a job.
Best of luck!
Gord, I love your posts! We share a philosophy on for profit centres I see!!
I agree, we have hired the best students who did placement with us. A lot of time our staff start as supply staff and move into full time.
www.chilcareadvantage.com is a good site, but as Gord mentioned, you will need to research the centre and see if it would be a good fit for you. That being said, it never hurts to take an interview, learn new philosophies and learn interview techniques and gain experience.
hello,
another website I found useful is Charity Village. It is a website specifically geared towards non-profit orgs. Hope this helps!
