Where Daycare Professionals and Ideas Come Together

Durham Region Child Care Forum

Durham Region Child Care Forum

The Durham Region Child Care Forum is holding its Annual Conference at the Durham District School Board Office on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2008. Last year’s conference was fantastic and I came away with tons of free stuff, information, contacts and I had a lot of fun too. There are door prizes, a great lunch, a vendor and service provider fair, keynote speaker and of course, workshops.

Registration begins at 8:15 in the Atrium, followed by the Keynote speaker at 8:45 in the Cafetorium. Participates registered for two workshops in the morning. Each workshop is 75 minutes with a short 15-minute break in between. An extended 90-minute lunch is catered in the Cafetorium.

Before (or after) you eat, make sure to visit the vendor fair and the Discovery Rooms (behind the registration area). The afternoon workshops run from 2-3:15pm. Refreshments are once again served in the Cafetorium while Awards of Excellence and door prizes are handed out.

Do not miss this! The door prizes are worth the wait trust me!

This years conference did not disappoint! More door prizes, the vendors area was moved to create more space (great idea). Amazing food and great presenters.
Already looking forward to next year!

How can I register for the childcare forum?

I was there on Saturday. Even though I was there as part of a display booth I was able to make numerous connections. Met some new people as well as people I already know. From all appearances everyone seemed to really enjoy the conference.
Well DonE!!! DRCCF

Hedgehog62, that is FANTASTIC. I was sad to miss this years conference, but was recovering from surgery. Glad to hear it went so well. Looking forward to getting my staff's reviews of the events when I go back to work.
Did you get a chance to hear the keynote speaker? That is one of my favourite parts.

The 2011 conference was fantastic. I was really glad to get a chance to look at Portfolios as a part of our centres evaluation practices.
Lunch was great, but the soup and salad ran out too fast and no diet pop options for those of us at the end of the line.
The keynote speaker was funny and I am excited to look into some improv workshops for my staff. I really think it will be a valuable tool for a career that really does rely on some acting and off the cuff skills from time to time!!
Picked up some great deals on programing books for the centre. The market place was small, but great vendors. Lots of draws and giveaways.
Looking forward to 2012!!
