There is so much information on this site that is so important, I thought I'd throw this in on a lighter note...as an ECE, what pet peeves do you have about working in the field? About parent? coworkers? Supervisors? Here are some of mine to get the ball rolling (and in no pasrticular order):
1. Families arriving 15-30 minutes before opening. Sure they can "wait outside" but let's face it, it's stressful getting the room setup in the morning knowing that they are waiting for you.
2. Children who are frequently brought in sick.
I am a male teacher(African American). I have taught kindergarten for three years. That is the only grade that i have taught. My license in in K-6. I have my masters in school administration(licensed). I am curreently working on my Education Specialist degree. Just wanted to give you a little background. I have enjoyed this experience. It has affected me being around this age group as much as i have affected them. Men are not natural nurturers. This type of behavior has to be taught, and thats ok.
Hello,
I am in the process of researching the idea of opening a childcare centre. My question is where can I look to buy an existing daycare centre and also how do I survey an area for childcare need? Also where do I look for financing help to open a childcare centre
I was wondering how many other organizations use schools as part of their program. I'm also curious to know that if you are, how supportive is the school towards your centre?
Our centre is presently involved in a program called "Raising the Bar". We recently completed the Bronze level and expect to reach the Silver level in late October. Are there any other centres involved in this program and if so, are you facing any challenges or successes?

I am a student from Durham College and will be graduating in June, Is there any good web sites to go to for job postings?
I was wondering how often toddlers are changed at your daycare (whether you work there or whether it's your child's daycare).
My 17-month-old's daycare is great in every other respect, but I don't like that there are only two scheduled changing times a day. I find this to be not enough, neither for my child nor for the others.
High Scope, does it practical for daycare centres to implement? If your centre already has High Scope, please provide advice on how to implement and any guidance/leads/pointers/links so it would be be beneficial to other potential centres who would like to implement the same. Thanks for all your comments.
Hello! We are trying to find a daycare centre (preferably in the Whitby area) that has a webcam, which allows parents to log in and check on their kids during the day. Any recommendations would be appreciated. Thanks!
